Practical tips for patients
- Do not worry about brushing and combing your hair daily, but be sure to use combs that have large teeth or a soft brush like a children’s brush.
- If you are accustomed to tying your hair, use ribbons or soft ribbons instead of curling irons. It is also best to cut your hair short before treatment.
- Avoid weaving, curling, blow-drying, hair straightening, etc.
- Do not use products that use chemicals such as hair straighteners, gels and hair sprays.
- If you have long hair, tie it with special silk satin nets to prevent your hair from tangling.
- To wash your hair, always use shampoos with a natural pH of 5.5 or herbal shampoos and conditioners that strengthen the hair. Gently apply conditioner to your hair.
- 7- Let your hair dry naturally or gently dry your hair with a soft towel.
- Reduce the frequency of washing your hair to 2 times a week, when you have to undergo chemotherapy and use a cold cap device, wash your hair 24 to 48 hours before and do not wash your hair until 24 hours after chemotherapy.
- Avoid dyeing your hair (avoid dyeing your hair with henna, which has a high percentage of ammonia).
